By downloading, installing, or using Rockhound, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
2. Description of Service
Rockhound is a mobile application that provides:
- AI-powered mineral and rock identification
- GPS tracking for rock hunting expeditions
- Digital collection management
- Community features for sharing public hunts
3. User Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under it.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Rockhound offers premium features through subscriptions. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your App Store account settings.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled 24 hours before the renewal date
- Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policy
- Prices may change with notice
5. AI Identification Disclaimer
Important: AI mineral identification is provided for educational and hobby purposes only. While we strive for accuracy:
- Identifications may not always be accurate
- Do not rely solely on AI identification for valuable specimens
- Consult a professional geologist for definitive identification
- We are not liable for incorrect identifications
6. Safety Warnings
Rock hunting can involve hazards. You are responsible for your own safety:
- Always get permission before collecting on private property
- Be aware of and follow local collecting laws and regulations
- Some minerals may be hazardous - handle with appropriate care
- Do not trespass or collect from protected areas
7. User Content
By sharing hunts publicly, you grant us a license to display your content to other users. You retain ownership of your content. You agree not to post content that:
- Violates any laws or regulations
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains harmful or offensive material
- Reveals the location of protected sites or endangered species

Rockhound and its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rockhound and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the app.
