From a weekend hobby to a worldwide community
It started on a hiking trip. We found an unusual rock, took a photo, and spent hours trying to identify it online. There had to be a better way.
We built Rockhound to solve our own problem: instant identification, GPS tracking for our finds, and a way to build a digital collection. What we didn't expect was how many others were looking for the same thing.
Today, thousands of rockhounds use the app to explore, identify, and collect. Every weekend, families discover the joy of rock hunting together. Kids learn about geology without even realizing it.
